Thanks to Philippe (Phil) Riebel, a balanced approach to paper is crossing the pond.

For more than 24 years, Riebel has been an outspoken champion of sustainability in the paper industry, serving as a senior strategist and consultant to some of the world’s biggest forest products manufacturers.

In 2011, Riebel worked with Martyn Eustace, founder of Two Sides UK and several supporting companies to get Two Sides U.S. off the ground.  Two Sides is a not-for-profit organization with the goal of promoting the responsible production and use of print and paper, and dispelling common environmental misconceptions about paper.

By providing consumers with verifiable information on why print on paper is an attractive, practical and sustainable communications medium, Two Sides hopes to ensure that, in a world of scarce resources, print and paper’s unique recyclable and renewable qualities can be enjoyed for generations to come.

Phil – who has been published extensively on sustainability topics related to the forest products sector – will be speaking at the 2012 CHOICES Sustainability Summit about the responsible production and use of print and paper.
