2012 CHOICES Sustainability Summit – Introducing Keynote Speaker Drew Dudley
Editor’s note: In the weeks leading up to the 2012 CHOICES Sustainability Summit, we will be profiling several key Summit speakers and contributors. Visit our website to learn more about the Summit and register to attend.
Drew Dudley doesn’t believe he can teach people to be leaders – rather, he strives to awaken the slumbering leader in all of us. Drew is the Founder and Chief Catalyst of Nuance Leadership Inc., a leadership consulting firm that works with dozens of universities, colleges, high schools, charities and other organizations around the world to empower young people to increase their leadership capacity.
Drew has an unyielding passion for the power of good works, having co-founded a Canadian cancer charity while still in college and serving as the national chair of Canada’s largest fundraiser for post-secondary students, “Shinerama: Students Fighting Cystic Fibrosis.” All told, Drew has helped raise more than $3 million as the founder or chair of several organizations dedicated to supporting scholarship funds, social entrepreneurship, and charitable initiatives.
For Drew, leadership isn’t about changing the world. Leadership is about taking ownership of ideas and being a champion for small successes. That’s a lesson Drew will share with the 2012 CHOICES Sustainability Summit, just as he did at the TEDx Toronto conference in September 2011. By hosting Drew as our keynote speaker, we hope to inspire our Summit attendees to think more openly and broadly about their roles as sustainability leaders.
